Best Time to Travel
Costa Rica has two main seasons: rainy and dry. The rainy season runs from May to November and the dry season from December to April.
Costa Rica experiences large amounts of rainfall during the rainy season, and the ocean becomes choppy. However, this season is good for the ecosystem since it rests from the dry season and allows the flora to regrow after long months under the hot sun.
The dry season is when the rain stops, and the sun comes out every day. Cold winds come down to Costa Rica from the north and help cool down the temperature. This breeze is comfortable and not too windy. The dry season is the recommended season to visit since you will never expect rain or a cloudy day.
Papagayo Weather
The weather in Papagayo ranges from 24 to 34 degrees Celsius or 75 to 93 degrees Fahrenheit. The amount of sun and precipitation that can be experienced depends on the time of year you will visit Papagayo. During the rainy season, expect lots of rainfall and choppy water in the ocean, and during the dry season, the sun will be out all day and a cool breeze. The weather is perfect for long days by the pool, fresh dips in the ocean, and many sporting activities, including fishing, snorkeling, and more.
